This is new for all of  us.  If you have questions or concerns please feel free to email me at spearson@braham.k12.mn.us  This is not meant to cause stress but to help relieve stress.    

I am asking that students  exercise for 30 or more minutes a day.  You are graded on participation so you will need to keep your  calendar/log up to date.  5th & 6th gr. you should be able to fill in calendars on your own.  If you do an exercise program other than what is on the calendar you still need to log what you do.   PARENTS please initial/sign off , then  email  (snap of pic of their calendar for the week when completed)  or 5th & 6th could send pic via Class DoJo app or fill it out in Google classroom if you have joined.    Email would be the best though  spearson@braham.k12.mn.us     I know some might be very limited in what they can do if they are at daycare somewhere.  Here are some examples of what students might do if they do want to try what is on the calendar.

Suggestions to start: How many curl-ups can you do in a minute? 2) How many push-ups can you do?  3) play Tag with family or siblings 4) How many times can you walk up & down the stairs in 5 minutes? Go for a walk if it's nice out.  5)  Help clean the house,6) Dance to your favorite music 7) Build a fort 8) Ride your bike if you have one 9)  How many times can you jump rope in five minutes? 10) Jump on the trampoline if you have one 11) Roller blade or Roller skate if you have them 12) Fly a kite on a windy day 13) How many Jumping Jacks can you do in a minute?  14) Shoots some hoops, 15) Play catch 16)  How many laps can you run around the outside of the house? 17) Make up your own  obstacle course or invent your own games, the list is endless.   You can also check out some of my favorite websites and YOUTUBE exercise videos  on my school website.  5th & 6th I will also be sharing this in  Google Classroom so please check your school email if possible.

Sock Toss - Get 10 pairs of socks & roll into a ball.  Put the laundry basket 10’ away from you.  How any can you get in the basket with an underhand toss _________?

 ________ Older students challenge yourself, each time you make it in the basket back up one step.

April 1

Play Tag with family if you can go outside 15 mins.

If you can’t go out play Hide & Go Seek in the House

Put each foot on a paper plate and practice your roller skating or rollerblading around the house  5 mins

If you can go outside and have a ball practice your kicking & punting skills.  For 20 mins. or more.   If you don’t have a partner to kick or punt the ball to, jog up to the ball then punt or kick it back to where you kicked it from before, try to kick it further  each time.

Build a fort!  Either outside or inside!  If you can, snap a picture and email it to

CUP GAMES

If you have access to YouTube try  one or more of these cup challenges.  Some of you will like the dart gun challenge, if not dart gun toss a ball or sock ball if inside.  Please snap a pic and email to me or send via email   If you don't have access  make your own creations using blocks or cups.

If it is nice out  & you have a ball & hoop, challenge  someone in your family to a game of Around the World, Horse, or if you have a big family play some Lightening or  then play some 1 on 1.

Get out & play some catch today with a partner (remember to step forward on the opposite foot).  If you do not have a partner then you can toss the ball in the air, practice catching pop-ups or find a target to throw at.   How many times  can you hit your target out of 30 attempts?

Go for a ½ hour walk or ½ hour bike ride with a family member

11- Week 7

Back in week 4 you play a game of 1 on 1 kickball.  Give it  a try again  but with a softball/wiffle ball and bat  this time.

If you do not have a bat and ball you could play the kickball version again.

If you have a brother or sister in PK, Kindergarten, 1st., 2nd, 3rd or 4th  help them with their track and field events.  You can time them and challenge them as well.

If you do not have a younger sibling-
